Application technology and process control of pigment in production
This paper outlines key performance indicators (KPIs) and classification criteria for pigments, including hiding ability, weather resistance, and dispersion property. Comparative tables illustrate the application characteristics of different pigment types. The text provides detailed explanations of the three production methods—dry mixing, bonding process, and melt extrusion—along with their applicable scenarios and critical process control points. Furthermore, it addresses common issues such as color mottling, uneven metallic effects, and poor pigment dispersion, detailing their causes and effective solutions.
Effect of production process on matting powder
This paper discusses the matting powder processed by the process of batching, pre-mixing, melting and mixing extrusion, cooling and tablet pressing, fine crushing, classification and sieving, packaging. Through the study and analysis of the characteristics of various processes, the influence of matting powder gloss is summarized.
Anti-clumping properties of Silica and Alumina C in powder coatings
This study compares the effects of silica and alumina C on anti-agglomeration in powder coatings, storage performance of powders, and coating appearance. The addition of silica and alumina C requires external force to disperse them into the powder matrix, which significantly enhances powder storage efficiency and results in superior coating quality.
Cause of pinhole in powder coating polyester and how to improve it
The anti-interference and anti-pollution ability of polyester resin in powder coating is different, which mainly depends on the amount of isophthalic acid and ethylene glycol used, which represents the ability of anti-pollution of this polyester. This paper propose a solution of how to balance the cost and the ability of anti-pollution.
Study on preparation and application of dot-patterned powder coating
Dot-pattern powder coatings, renowned for their diverse color palettes, layered textures, vivid hues, and sophisticated appearance, are extensively utilized in surface decoration applications such as premium profiles, hardware furniture, crafts, and marble-effect finishes. These coatings combine superior physical properties with decorative appeal, making them a market hotspot. Early dot-patterned powder products faced challenges in particle size distribution, Issues such as inconsistent density and electrostatic properties often lead to problems like uneven surface distribution (sparse upper points vs. dense lower points), poor powder reusability, and compromised construction quality, significantly reducing material efficiency and hindering large-scale adoption. Drawing from years of practical experience in producing dot-pattern powder, this article elaborates on raw material selection, preparation techniques, and application guidelines for dot-patterned powder. By facilitating knowledge exchange among powder industry professionals, we aim to enhance both product quality and construction stability in dot-pattern powder applications.
Discussion on preparation technique of metal effect thermosetting powder coating for aluminum sheet
As a premium architectural cladding material, aluminum panels are extensively utilized in curtain walls, ceiling systems, and interior/exterior decorative applications. Their exceptional durability, lightweight construction, and adaptability are made possible by high-performance surface coatings. Metal-effect powder coatings not only deliver versatile color options (including silver-white, champagne gold, bronze, and black sand-textured finishes) but also create distinctive metallic textures, shimmering effects, and three-dimensional depth. These enhancements significantly elevate the decorative value and commercial value of aluminum panels. The core challenge in the preparation of such coatings is how to achieve stable, uniform and gorgeous metal visual effects while ensuring mechanical properties, weather resistance and corrosion resistance of the coating.
Powder coating automation production line: technical analysis and development prospects
In the current era of technology-driven manufacturing revolution, automated production lines have changed from "optional configuration" to "Core Support" has become a key indicator for measuring corporate production capacity and competitiveness. As a crucial material extensively used in construction materials, automotive, home appliances, and related fields, powder coatings require high precision, stability, and environmental protection in their production processes. This makes automated production lines an inevitable choice for industry upgrading.
Research and development of high brightness leveling additives
This paper introduces the current situation and theoretical research on high brightness leveling additives in powder coatings, focusing on the performance development of surfactants in acrylic categories such as leveling agent in powder coatings by Wuhan Yincai Company. It also discusses the developed high brightness leveling agent.
Particle size of powder produced by coffee grinder and its influence
Coffee grinders are widely used in our powder factory for experimental prototyping. Within seconds, they can produce dozens of grams of powder sufficient to spray several sample plates, offering rapid and convenient processing. The ground coffee powder is sieved through different mesh sizes (140,160,180, and 200) using laser particle size analyzers to measure particle distribution. These results are then sprayed onto plates for comparison with mill powder production, providing industry benchmarks. For outdoor matting powder testing, we utilize Wuhan Yincai's Outdoor Physical Matting Agent L2018C.
Quality control and testing of matting agent
As a critical additive in powder coatings, the quality of matting agents directly determines the performance and quality of end products. Therefore, implementing rigorous quality control and comprehensive testing for these agents is essential. For instance, in premium powder coatings, matting agents must achieve exceptional fineness and uniformity to ensure the coating maintains the required level of subtlety and gloss. Given that different application scenarios demand distinct quality standards, targeted quality control measures should be implemented throughout both production and application processes.
A new idea to develop indoor 70/30 system matting agent
The 70/30 epoxy system, characterized by low epoxy content and high polyester catalyst levels, has long presented challenges in achieving effective Matting. Despite years of research efforts, significant breakthroughs remained elusive. Our team adopted an innovative approach by curing outdoor-grade pure polyester with epoxy in a 70/30 ratio, specifically developing the novel matting agent L2037. Comprehensive evaluations were conducted on this indoor-grade matting agent, including dosage optimization, storage stability, polyester compatibility, and other performance metrics. The results demonstrate that for most polyester materials, L2037 achieves an ultra-low gloss level of 10% (60 ° m/m) while maintaining exceptional stability and performance.
New breakthrough in HAA system matting
This paper evaluates the performance and influencing factors of L2019, a novel HAA matting curing agent developed by Wuhan Yincai Technology Co., Ltd., while assessing its advantages and limitations. The L2019 HAA matting curing agent effectively reduces production costs, enables single-extrusion with sustained and reliable matting effects, simplifies process steps, and delivers excellent surface smoothness of coatings. It achieves a minimum gloss level of 15°.
New breakthrough of G600 acrylic matting resin
Traditional acrylic matting resins have been available for over 30 years but have faced two persistent challenges: surface susceptibility to scratches and difficulty in adjusting gloss beyond 10°. G600 Acrylic Matting Resin addresses these limitations through significant breakthroughs, effectively resolving the shortcomings of conventional resins—poor scratch resistance, sensitivity to baking temperature, and challenging gloss control. This innovative material enables precise gloss adjustment between 3% and 30%, the finished coating film with ultra-smooth, skin-like texture that combines high hardness, excellent weather resistance, and superior hydrophobicity and lipophobicity. These advancements provide a new material solution for manufacturing premium-grade powder coatings.
